27 Weeks

Busy week!  I can't believe we are in our 3rd trimester now!!!  AAHHH!!  Just 13 more weeks to go...
Well, this week was a learning week.  I got to babysit Kellan three days this week and I learned quite a bit!

  1. I learned that when mixing cereal, it is imperative to mix slowly or it will turn to liquid
  2. I learned that when feeding liquid cereal to a 4 month old, it will come back out of his mouth and go everywhere...
  3. I learned that when burping a baby, always ALWAYS cover with a cloth because you are going to be wearing his food.
  4. I learned that no matter how hard you try to help a crying baby, sometimes there just isn't anything you can do.  That's heartbreaking...
  5. I learned that the smallest victories bring the greatest joy...after three days of trying, I finally got the cereal mixed and fed correctly.
  6. I learned that when a baby smiles at you, your insides melt...
On Friday, I started at World Hope International!  It was GREAT!  I do love office work!  I made comb-binding packets, filed information about mission trips, and put together boxes with tee shirts for those headed out on mission trips.  I spent 4 1/2 hours there and I was SPENT!  I just came home, propped my feet up and chillaxed! I'll be going there once a week...

Ok, baby updates:
She's moving like crazy!  It sometimes even hurts when she kicks/punches me in more sensitive areas.  I've also been able to feel those "knots" more often...which are her hands/feet.  When I actually get to feel them I am amazed that those are her hands/feet!  OMGOSH!  I've started getting cramps in my calves these last few days....and experiencing what the internet describes as carpal tunnel in my right arm.  In the morning and evening, my arm/hand starts to tingle and get numb.  All the articles I read about it tell me it should go away after delivery...so I just have to deal with it for 13 more weeks.

Kris is busily trying to get ready for the phase of the nursery: cutting baseboards and building a wood storage system in the closet.  In order for him to do this, he had to prime his workstation and put Polyurethane on the actual table part.  He also reorganized the garage so he could move around better and get to work on the next phase of the nursery!

The storage closet he is going to build will look something like this!
Saturday morning, I woke up to a very sweet puppy kissing my belly!  My camisole had ridden up above my belly while I was sleeping, and I woke up to him licking my belly!  :)  So sweet.  :)
Kris spent Saturday cutting and fitting new closet doors for our guest room.  Check out his MAGIC!

Here is a belly picture..my shirt is pretty tight...I had to cut the sleeves off and you can see that it doesn't completely cover my belly!  :)  Also, here's a funny picture...

26 weeks

So I think I understand why women get annoyed with people giving their opinions about their baby weight gain.  I was checking out at the grocery story and the clerk said, "When's your baby due" I say "May".  He says, "Wow you're huge!"  I know he didn't mean it negatively...but if you hear that repeatedly it can certainly wear on you... Everywhere I go I get this reaction.

I had a sweet "incident" this morning that really made me smile!  I woke up to Oreo and our little one playing a little game.  Oreo would kick my belly gently, our baby would press back...this went on for about a 1/2 hour!  It was awesome.  Then, I was feeling my belly and I felt a hard knot.  I pressed on it and it was kinda uncomfortable and didn't move.  I came back to it later and it was gone....so I think that might have been her foot or hand!!  :)  I've been able to feel her move so much this week!  It's so exciting!

I also had my first experience with projectile baby stuff.  I was feeding Kellan on Wednesday and he started to gurgle, so I pulled the bottle out.  I don't know if he sneezed or coughed or what...but the next thing I know-I had milk in my eye!  I couldn't stop laughing!  He seemed very proud of himself!  :) I just love that little guy!

I also had my first "accident".  :)  I had a case of the sillies the other day and couldn't stop laughing.  Well, I started laughing so hard I actually peed my pants!  I've heard about this happening but it has not really happened to me before!  Kris just stood there laughing at me!  It was so funny!

Here is a week 26 picture!  I don't really think this picture gives an accurate representation of my hugeness...

Mrs. Cranky Pants

Yesterday was a strangely cranky day for me. I didn't sleep the night before for a variety of reasons and I was just cranky and unhappy. I was short with Mollie, my therapist-I'm sorry about that Mollie! I think I snapped at just about everyone. Nothing could make me happy. I was hungry but didn't know what I wanted to eat-just what I didn't want to eat. My body hurt and I was just unpleasant....until....my parents showed up at our door with Korean food! Oh My Gosh! They brought rice, kim, kimchi, Bibimbap, Bulgogi, Korean apples, oranges, and clementines. Who knew that's what it would take to return me to a state of happiness?! :) The Bulgogi was actually for Kris and my mom gave me very strict orders not to eat Kris' bulgogi...I called Kris and his mood changed from glum to happiness at the sound of "bulgogi". We enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night! Thanks mom and dad! :)
This morning, Kris discovered that the second ceiling leak (above our heater in the theater room) has expanded. Here are two pictures of the latest unpleasantness....

Good gracious....

25 Weeks and Happy Valentines Day!

What a week!  Just can't believe all this snow!!!  We got over 2 feet of snow and poor Kris had to keep shoveling the driveway.  Here are some pictures of the 2-9-10 snow.  Click HERE for pictures of the snow storm!

Happy Valentines to everyone!  Kris and I are going to celebrate with homemade meatballs and spaghetti, for dinner and yummy chocolate candy I made!  :)  And I think we're going to watch a movie.  :)

Ok...onto baby updates:
Kris did get lots of time to work on the nursery due to all this crazy snow.  :)  He got the entire room painted!  The two colors are amazing!  He painted and should finish putting up the new door and window frames by the end of the weekend! Click HERE for pictures of the nursery development. We are up to Phase 6 on the pictures.

While Kris was working on the nursery, I was busy cleaning...cleaning...and more cleaning!  Oh yeah...and baking yummy treats.  :)

We got our first gift from our baby registry this week from the Babcock's!  It was our cradle swing.  After we opened the shipping box, the swing sat in the middle of our living room....and we just stared at it.  We both were just amazed that we are getting gear for the baby....that we are having a baby!  OMGosh! ...the box is still sitting in the middle of the room, and after dinner every night we go in there and just stare at it!  :)

Due to the snow, our 24 week check up with our OB was postponed to Thursday.  Thursday morning, our OB called and cancelled our appointment.  Then around noon, they called to tell us they were open...so we headed out there for our appointment.  The first thing they did was weigh me.  153.  I started at 115....this means I've gained 38 pounds in the first two trimesters.  Oh my gosh... I'm not eating that badly.  I have a moderate treat every day, but I make sure I've got all the good stuff first.  At first I thought it was funny because I've always been such a stick...but then I got really upset about it. Kris said lots of sweet things and I talked to Alli and I am starting to feel better about it.  I am going to cut down on my Sprite intake (was drinking 2-3 cans a day!  :) ) and canned fruit (has lots of sugar).  Anyway, then we headed off to the room with the doctor and had a good appointment.  Our little girl is doing great.  Her heart beat was 132 and our doctor was happy with where I was.  They gave me the Glucola drink-I got the fruit punch flavor-so I'll have my GLUCOSE TEST at my next appointment.

I read on a website that Kris might be able to hear her heartbeat if he puts his ear on my belly...so we gave it a try.  He couldn't really tell what he was hearing...but he did get to see something neat!  She was moving/kicking/punching a bunch and he saw one of those movements right above his head when he was listening!  She almost kicked him in the head!  :)  HA HA HA!  It was really exciting!  Since then, I've been feeling her very regularly and she's getting really strong!  I finally felt her hiccups!  How cute!

My back's been killing me, so I decided to add these light weight training exercises to my daily routine to help strengthen those muscles...and Alli lent me a Prenatal Pilates DVD that will hopefully help too.

I had another emotional breakdown on Saturday.  Have you ever seen the Modern Family episode where Phil gets a new TV system and Claire can't figure out how to use the remote control?  Well...that was me.  I've always struggled with Kris' fancy system...though I have mastered turning on and watching TV.  I finished on the treadmill and wanted to try a Pilates DVD Alli lent me...so I put it in the DVD player.  It wouldn't work.  Of course, Kris was not home....so I called him.  We got it to play, but then I couldn't select chapters (I didn't want to watch the whole thing).  I got so frustrated, I gave up and worked myself into quite the temper.  I got a headache from all the blood rushing to my head so I had to take a nap.  This picture describes how I was feeling!
Unrelated to baby...these are just two cute pictures of Oreo and Kris cuddling.  :)

Here's my 25 week pic...15 more weeks to go!!!
Good Gracious....I'm huge....I'm going to break in half if I put on any more weight...
